Course Summery

The Certificate in Motor Vehicle Mechanics (Apprenticeship) is a 18 months Apprenticeship training programme for secondary five (S5) school leavers and mature learners. This is equivalent to three(3) semesters. To qualify for the certificate, a learner has to successfully complete all the required units/courses on the programme. Total number of credits to be accumulated is 120 credits. A graduate with the Certificate Motor Vehicle Mechanics is one who can perform duties in Motor Vehicle Mechanics and have basic workshop skills as an apprentice in Motor Vehicle Mechanics under direct supervision.

Entry Requirements in 2025 (S5 Only)

Learners wishing to apply for the Certificate in Motor Vehicle Mechanics must have attained one of the following

* National Examinations: 40% or better in English, Mathematics and Physics or Chemistry or Design Technology

* 40% in General English, General Mathematics, and General Science

* Successfully completed TVET program with 40%. Others: Records of Achievement with evidence of interest in the relevant field, previous skills acquired and relevant references)

Entry Requirements in 2025 (Other Applicants)

Candidates who have successfully completed Secondary Education

or

with one-year work experience. From Category 01 (on page 4 and 5)
